2012-04-03 UI/UX Meeting

2012-04-03 UI/UX Meeting

Attendees: Susan, Sathyan, Nathan, Dan

Notes:

  • New People

    • Potential Hires

      • Ankur - designer (part-time?); diverse skillsets and interested in health

    • Interns

    • Volunteers

      • Need people able to churn out wireframes

  • Work

    • Outpatient

      • Developers are lined up in GSoC to work on this, so we need progress on designs

      • Unfortunately, no progress in the past week

    • Lab

      • Sathyan will join full-time next week... starting by working on Wireframes

    • Screener-Triage

      • Gio continues to iterate on these images

    • Pharmacy

      • Susan would like to give feedback, but needs more detail ... what is workflow? what are requirements?

      • Generally, the little elements look fine, but unclear how to use them all together on a page

  • Components List

    • Interaction Elements – more about "overall behavior"

      • Want these as consistent as possible

      • Don't want to re-invent during development

      • For those who use multiple modules, will be familiar

      • Also, all modules hang together better when we are presenting to prospective users

      • Want to understand the behavior in different modules; then we can unify them

    • Visual Design elements - actual components from Sencha

      • Which particular Sencha widget is used to deliver this

      • What is the color, design, look (font, size, location on the screen)

      • Touch vs. Mouse are two different interaction styles

        • Sometimes identical (but unlikely)

      • Don't re-invent look and color scheme

      • Use Sencha's ability to extend and compose components

Todos:

  1. (Daniel) Follow-up on Pharmacy module.

    1. We need more information on the workflow in order to understand it. Need a text description of workflow.

    2. Can Pharmacy module designers join the weekly design call next week?

  2. (Nathan) Fill out the Sencha/ExtJS components that are needed for various UI elements in "Common Elements.xls" file
