Objective: Review progress of Lab module, thoughts on GSoC, UI/UX Progress, Tying back-end and front-end together

ToDos

  • Roger: finish working on Objects (expose objects and write unit tests), aiming for mid-April completion

Notes

  • Management of New Contributors

    • 3 new contributors  have set up lab environment

    • Jianhua making great progress, has 1 bug fix already completed and in need of review

  • Breakdown of Work

    • lab-order likely to be last part to come through; sub-class of OpenMRS order

    • Objects

      • expose and unit test

    • Custom Views

      • expose specific information needed by front end, and do all logic/processing to combine info on the back end (minimize REST calls)

    • Lab Reports

    • Lab Management

      • Need a good dashboard for approval

      • Need good status display: how many specimens awaiting each department

    • Lab Results

  •  UI/UX

    • John Anzelc has committed to get involved more regularly with lab module ui development

    • Lab Result entry screen

      • needs to be complex and handle a diversity of types of results

      • Who tested, what time ... links back to actual lab result with all of its details

  • GSoC

    • mentoring projects ... as JSS, as OpenMRS?? --> Move Lab Admin pages, Lab Reports projects to OpenMrs space

    • selecting students... feedback on their applications? 

  • Tying Backend and Frontend together

    • "Reading" is simpler

      • Result from another lab - biopsy tests, offsite tests... only require "reading" of data

    • "Writing" observations is more complex

    • Landing Page

      • when you login, on landing page of "lab" module... 

        • register specimen, report a test, prepare a sample, search (among these: sample collection, microscopy, etc)

    • InOut.xls ... validation, required inputs
