  • Review from this past week's discussion about OpenMRS and CouchDB/CouchApps

  1.  

    1. Much discussion took place over the past few weeks about how to store our data. We gave serious consideration to CouchDB for a number of reasons

      1. document-oriented, not observation-oriented

      2. off-line syncing

    2. We decided to more forward with OpenMRS and its relational, MySQL database, because we need to implement in the near future and CouchDB would take many more resources. It would delay getting an EMR implemented at JSS.

    3. For these and other reasons we are moving foward with OpenMRS - although we will be building in these functionalities, like syncing with off-line devices.
