Major discussions and Follow-up actions:

1. Literature review: A discussion on how to proceed with the literature review was taken up during the call. Currently the Literature review done by the CMU Interns deals with the key findings that the How Low literate adult process information? How they makes sense of information? Using this we would be trying to find out possible design Implications for information visualization and UI; how we could make the information more intuitive for low literate adults? We have gone through certain papers, pulled out findings, and drawn some possible design implications for the interface. This would be shared with everyone possibly by the start of next week, once it's organizing is complete. Once the document is shared, everyone could contribute to the design implications. Niyati would try to complete it possibly by tomorrow afternoon. Thereafter, Matt and Niyati could have a call to discuss the same.

2. Interview Guides: Contextual Interviews could be conducted with users (patients), beneficiaries of health (doctor, ASHA, etc), service providers, etc. A document has been prepared for the same and Niyati would be sharing it with the team soon. For preparation of the interview guide, everyone could add their questions in the document. User centered design approach will be followed by us this summers (contextual interviews, contextual design modelling, making lo-fi prototype, Wizards of Oz testing). Interview guide should probably be finished by next week.

Niyati would be visiting JSS on Thursday or Friday this week. Everyone is requested to have a look at the JSS website and the shared "JSS Bilaspur Interview Notes" document. If there are any doubts related to JSS, then the questions could be included in the document including your reference i.e your name in brackets or adding questions with a different color. This work could be finished by this Wednesday afternoon. Matt and Niyati could have a call before Thursday regarding her visit. Also a tentative structure of the team's visit, needs to be send to Surajit. The interview notes could be also be shared with him.

3. Prototyping: Finalization of the prototyping tool (Flash/ Sencha) we would be using this summer; needs to be completed keeping in mind the feasibility of time and skills we have available with us. A call can then be scheduled this week to discuss the technical details, once Siddharth gets familiar with Sencha.

4. Designing interfaces before contextual interviews:  Through contextual interviews, we would be working to find out the health information needs of the user. Since we would be having two rounds of field research (one for contextual interview and the other for Wizards of Oz testing), we won't be needing to prepare the screens beforehand. But just to get a fair idea, we could possibly prepare some screens. Since Daniel has a better understanding of the users and their Health Information needs in Bilaspur, he could share with us some information about the users and give a preliminary idea about what the interface could contain. Some ideas discussed by Niyati and Sathyan for  the user's interface are: Show a schedule for the medicines, notify them about doctor's appointment, remind them about the time to pick up their lab reports, give a general information about their treatment, etc (Though it should not look like a reminder system, it should be integrated to existing system- EMR). Also some ideas could be taken from the design implications derived from the literature review.
